Baby with CMPA (cow’s milk protein allergy)

Hello has anybody’s baby been diagnosed with CMPA? How were you able to tell and what tests were they done to your baby to determine this allergy to cows milk? Last but not least what were the recommendations if you are breast-feeding and also if the pediatrician sent any formula what formula they sent? I just want some tips from mommy’s breast-feeding and the ones using formula as well as my doctor already prescribed one but I want to “explore” other options. Thank you 🙏🏽

Hi my baby has cmpa and she used to have blood in stool, had reflux and was spitting much. When i stopped dairy products from my diet around 4th mo as far as i remember, she didn't have blood in stool anymore. After starting solids her stool was more solid also of course so we couldn't be sure, i tried eating butter at ~9mo i guess and she had rash on chest and back. I don't know of course if aaaalll of these are interrelated or not, I'll try again when she's 11mo next week. Dr didn't do any tests, only from the symptoms she diagnosed.

@Esma thanks for replying. Same here no tests only by symptoms which I sometimes find it hard to believe. But I have cut out dairy from my diet as well but he still has colics and mucous in poop every now and then. Where you able to see the blood in stools? For mine I can’t but since I took him to ER they did a test and found positive for blood in stools. Also with all the symptoms they recommended me to use a formula. Did you use a formula by any chance? Or did you continue to breastfeed her?

Hi! My baby wasn’t officially diagnosed with CMPA but she was having a lot of reflux when I would eat dairy and supplement with cow-based formula (when I was trying to increase my supply). At 6 weeks old, we switched from HIPP cow formula to Goat formula and I stopped eating any dairy and has not had reflux or projectile vomiting since then and she is now 7 months🥰 Give it a try! Hope it works for your little one too🙏🏼✨
