at my 34 week scan my baby was 6lbs which is big. X

@Deb I’ve heard that they’re usually off by a 1Ib or 2 but I was mortified to see she’s in the 97th percentile!😩x

My baby was 4lb 8oz at 32 week scan and they were all happy with that, surely yours is a normal size then? Also yes they are inaccurate it’s impossible for them to know for sure!

At my 28 weeks she was 3lbs 1 oz i think the ob said she’s in the 58th percentile. I had my first daughter at 30 weeks and she was 3lbs 2 oz so you’re fine that’s a good weight.

They measured my little boy for 6lb 4oz, he was 7lb 4oz! They're usually off quite a bit haha

Pretty positive that’s the weight they told me at my 28 week appt today too! She’s measuring 2 weeks ahead 😅

They are not always accurate I was told at 36weeks he was 6.3 lb but at 39weeks and 3 days when he was born he was 6.7lb so imagine how wrong they were.

Take it with a pinch of salt. I was told 8lb5 and baby was born 7lb8 x

When I got my 37 week appointment scan they estimated my baby at 8lb3oz he was born at 7lb15oz

@Evelyn-Chelsea honestly I don't believe them, I've only put on 6lbs the whole pregnancy. My friend was told baby was 12lb and born a week later at 6lbs lol x

Don't worry about any estimated weights. Suspected Small or big baby is one of the excuses to push for induction. Follow every indicator of good health for yourself and baby and all is good.

Did they do it with a measuring tape or scan? My baby was measuring in the 70th percentile according to the tape, went in 2 days later for a scan and he’s measuring in 20th and now we’re getting scans for reduced growth. The tape seems like such a waste of time

I think thats ok at my 32 week scan she was 4 pound 2 and they said that was average

At my 28week scan my little boy was 2lb6oz x

Evidencebasedbirth.com Third trimester ultrasounds are mostly inaccurate.

So scans can be very inaccurate, but also, bigger babies can be "easier", because they are large enough to open your pelvis more and a help progress birth along. My son was born at four pounds thirteen ounces, and it was excruciating because he and the pitocin couldn't get me past 9.5cm before my body told me to push. I'm hoping for a larger baby next time 😅
