Holiday check list

We go on holiday in a few days with our 18 month old to Gran Canaria. Can anyone suggest a check list for my 18 month old please? I just don’t want to forget anything I’ll need for him

So glad you put this on here I go away next month and have absolutely no clue what to pack xx

Loads of snacks Toys for plane Their own cutlery and a bowl or plate also a bib Tablet with their favourite shows on. Downloaded videos on to your phone (YouTube /netflix subscription) Headphones as the plane is super loud. Change of clothes for you too on the plane. Milk if he still has it. We actually took a rapid cool of formula with us for the plane as my daughter hates cold milk. Formula for back up. Have you booked him his own seat on the plane? Fold up buggy that can go on plane?

Sorry our plane journey was a bit horrendous and wished we booked a seat for my daughter as she had to sit on our laps and the easyJet flight was so cramped it wasn’t enjoyable especially with a stranger on our row as my daughter just wanted to get up every 5 mins

Once you are there you can get most things

@Lyra I'm booked with easyJet for a holiday in May and they wouldn't allow me to book a seat for my little one on his own 😩

Okay, I fly every six weeks or so with my 18 month old and 3 year old and honestly you don’t need anything special. We walk up and down the plane, they have something like an apple that takes ages to eat or some proper food if it’s lunch or dinner time. Mine love to look at pictures of themselves on my phone and they could do that for ages. Just remember if you take lots of things on the plane it’s more things to pick up off the floor in that tiny space. I would advise one of those UPF50 vests/ suits which you probably already have so you don’t have to faff with suncream. Just try and relax and have a lovely holiday, children exist everywhere so most places have all you need!

We travel every 6 weeks with our 19 month old (mix of long and short haul) and my biggest advice is to stay relaxed. Nothing you do will make a difference!! For the plane: Lots of snacks or a meal you know they like If you allow screen time, download some shows onto your phone. Books and a few small toys e.g we take his favourite digger or monster truck lol Try to time a nap if possible Get up into the bit by the galley/toilets - most of the time air crew don’t mind (unless they are prepping service) They often love to look around and play with people behind - most people are super friendly Accept they will probably whinge a little. Also accept it’s a daytime flight so don’t stress about others!! :) When there: Calpol/teething powder A few toys e.g we often take stacking cups as they are light but lots of different games! Don’t overpack nappies, you can get them easily in the canaries Cutlery, plate & cup Check air con/fan where you’re staying & pack bed wear accordingly!

@Lyra we’re flying with Jet2 and no I didn’t book a seat for my son, he will be on my lap. I’ll just try to keep him entertained

Thanks all x

@Holly oh what! Is it half term? Sometimes they are more strict on busier flights? But I have heard if you say your lo is big for their age they have to accommodate

Yeah like the others said try to relax, that’s not what I did! But I was also 6 months pregnant so not the easiest to be relaxed lol. My lg just was so over stimulated
