We used one of those non-ink kits for some gifts and it worked really well - like this https://www.notonthehighstreet.com/elizabethjane/product/baby-hand-and-foot-inkless-print

I work in early years as well as having my own children, so I have done more hand and footprints than I can count 😅 - use non-toxic washable paint - have a stack of baby wipes to hand ready to clean paint off as soon as you’re done - depending on how old your child is, show them how to spread their fingers/toes before you apply any paint, so they know what to expect - use a heavy book or a clipboard, then masking tape or clip your paper onto the surface to stop it from shifting - sit baby in a high chair if possible, if they are too small then a bumbo or even a pushchair will honestly make it so much easier Paint baby’s hand/foot, be super calm and talk about the colour you’re using, what the paint feels like, to keep baby interested. Bring paper to baby, push gently on middle of the foot or back of hand to encourage the toes/fingers to spread, then remove paper quickly to avoid smudging. Prepare yourself that it can take a couple of attempts depending on how wriggly your LO is 🥰

Mix food colouring with yoghurt

I use washable paint And wipe it with a baby wipe right after I get the print And I do it with baby just in a diaper. Fast clean up lol
