Formula & constipation/wind
My baby is 3 and a half weeks and about 10 days ago we started to switch from cow and gate pre made formula to powder.
However we noticed that after switching to powder he was getting constipated (going 48 hours sometimes) and a lot more wind which was causing him pain and he was screaming (especially in the evening) we have switched back to pre-made over the last couple of days and it seems to be getting better.
Has anyone experienced this before and have any advice? Obviously pre-made is so expensive, so would it be worth trying to swap brands?

Health visitor told me it can take a couple of weeks for their digestive system to adjust to it, so I’d imagine changing g brands would likely do the same thing. My LO took some time to adjust from BM to formula x

Formula is harder for babies to digest than the likes of breast milk so it’s really common for them to become constipated. It’s very much a case of fighting through it for a couple days as their body adjusts. Pre made have a laxative effect. When my LG was Constipated I would use pre made for half her feeds then powder for the other half. Eventually everything went back to normal
