I'd highly recommend "oh crap! Potty training" book. My son smashed it, bless him, and I used the method in there 🥰 Basically naked bottom half until you're confident they know what they are meant to be doing and then add just trousers (no pants) until they are getting to the potty more times than not and then can start leaving the house haha. I started on a Friday and by the Tuesday he had no accidents and we were out all day 🥰

I have a little boy, just started potty training about 2 weeks ago! All we did was let him choose his knickers, and put him on the potty every 10-15 minutes! Stayed in the house for 2 days! We can now go on days out and not worry about him needing the toilet Encourage plenty of drinking water and a sticker chart was a good way forward for us! Don’t be discouraged by accidents it’s part of the process! You’ve got this!❤️

He is abit behind with understanding things so worry about saying pick his own pants or using the sticker method x

We started on a weekend when I knew we had no plans, just completely took his nappy away during the day (had it back for sleep) made sure he had constant access to his potty and lots available to drink and we would just encourage him to use the potty throughout the day. The first day I think we had about 2 accidents and then after that nothing, he really did smash it! ☺️ We got really lucky, we did have the potty out in the living room for a few weeks before hand so he was able to get used to it and I would ask if he would want to use it, if he said no I wouldn’t force it, he does one day a week at nursery and was beginning to ask to sit on the potty during nappy changes so once he showed more interest then I thought let’s just do it! All children are different tho if your little one doesn’t feel ready you will probably struggle getting him to use it and will have lots of accidents but just continue to talk about it with him, you know your child better than anyone so you will know

He is ready to start! I’m also deputy manager of a nursery and no the struggle if they aren’t ready and you try to potty train! So sorry for the long reply but hope this helps! 🤦🏻‍♀️xx

Sorry jumping on the band wagon but How do you know if they’re ready to start? Xx

We took his nappy off him one day and told him ‘no more nappies, we’re going to do wees on the potty/toilet now’. He was more comfortable in pants than naked, so we just went with it. We’d try him on the potty every half an hour or so and just asked if he needed a wee. We had 2/3 days with loads of accidents, then all of a sudden he got it. Stickers and a special treat for each wee did seem to help.

@Lauren they show alot of interest in it
