Softplay

Okay, so my toddler loves softplay and I love taking her but it seems everytime we go she becomes poorly? Surely not everytime she should get poorly? Anyone else experiencing the same?

Every. Single. Time. Thanks to the parents who feel they just MUST take their sick child out..

I was worried it was just me 🤣 honestly it’s just ruining it for everyone else now! I’m so hesitant to take her anymore 😭

@Louise I’m in a really hard place. I want my son to socialise but he gets sick every single time. It’s just not worth it.

@Emma I’m in the same boat 😭 it’s horrible but she has been so poorly. Unfortunately the minority ruin it for everyone else. And my little girl absolutely loves soft play and the children.

The one time we go to a soft play. Boom...Hand foot and mouth! Ballpits are just cesspools 😵‍💫

Honestly same!

It’s basically one big nursery! My daughter gets poorly every week at nursery and has done all through winter. I can’t wait for the warmer weather just for the illnesses to calm the hell down!

Yep! Filled with germs and our little ones have perfectly new immune systems that need to learn to fight off these bugs 😭

We don’t go very often but we’ve yet to come home with anything - judging by this we’ve been extremely lucky

We went soft play two weeks ago, there was a little boy about 9 months old snotty nose poorly crawling all over me and my son, the mom just sat chatting to her friends… my son started to become poorly the following evening and is still poorly now🙃 honestly don’t know why moms take their poorly children around others?? I’m sure their child will survive without soft play for a few days until they get better! It’s so frustrating x

Yep, I've banned soft play in our house until spring and there are less nasty nasty illness going around! We have a local gymnastics club near us who do toddler open plan every weekday morning and he hasn't ever got sick from there. Might be something like that near you?

My LB is in nursery and legit brings home a illness every week, he doesn't re coup from the first illness fully and picks up the next. He is guaranteed to get ill 3 4 days after a soft play aswell. Don't get me wrong I seclude away for first few days especially if has fever but as he never fully gets rid of the cold and cough in that position what are these kind of mums meant to do ? Keep our kids inside forever and not socialise them or entertain them because they've always got a cold and cough ? There's only so much walks/indoor activities away from others you can do before your child gets bored of that because it's not the same or enough compared to burning energy. So I totally get what some mums are saying, when any child is at the peak of illness where there most infectious you shouldn't mingle them out where lots of other little ones are but sometimes you have too when it's a situation like a never ending cold and cough unfortunately otherwise what life does your tod have being away from normalitiy ✌️

@Stephanie I completely understand that situation. Unfortunately it’s not cold and coughs that she has been getting from softplay 😭 it’s sickness bugs, hand foot and mouth, temperatures and other illness not coughs and colds! I completely understand colds and cough and going out xx

My little girl loves soft play, but we try to avoid it…although she’s at nursery, so it doesn’t really make a huge difference since she’s ill every other week with something new! I can’t wait for spring, need a break!

Same boat Every single time 🙄 I've stopped going for a while cause I'm sick of her being unwell she gets more bugs from soft play than nursery !!
