Cost of scans

My midwife gave me a referral for a dating scan. When I went to book online I saw it costs over $300!? Is this correct? Is it subsidized in new zealand?

Should be cheaper with the referral, mine were like $70! The website says $300 though

I’m guessing you may be in Auckland? Dating scans are only subsidised with good clinical reason. Not just for you wanting them. If you know your lmp date then unlikely to be funded

If you are in Auckland, Ultrasound Orewa does the dating scan for free! If you are not a resident or citizen, I think it may have a cost though.

Shop around, different providers charge their own rates.
