Mums going back to work in April, have you heard from your manager at all?

I’ve not heard from my manager for almost a whole year! Just wondering if this is normal and if anyone else has had the same.

I went back in October and didn't hear from my manager until 3-4 weeks before I went back. I did my KIT days all in one too so I didn't really keep in touch throughout. Everything was organised easily enough though!

I've been in contact with my manager throughout and don't go back till June had a first informal meeting with manager in Jan and again will have one in March.

I’ve been contacted but they keep cancelling meetings so doing a teams call at some point but I want a kit day in March asap!

Im going back to work in April and I contacted my manager in January to request to reduce my hours so I could confirm days with nursery, but she did say she wouldn’t have expected to discuss it until closer to the time I go back to work so maybe it’s normal?

@Deborah oh wow! How are you suppose to sort nursery out if you don’t know how long you’re going back to work? I had to put my request in 6 months before going back🙃

I was thinking the same thing to be honest, it’s all been very chill which I suppose is a good thing? Haha

My manager has kept in touch for most of my maternity leave. Just an email here and there to see how I am. I approached her about restarting work around Xmas time and now we’re talking about that.

Some companies have policies in place about not contacting people on maternity leave. Mine do, but I told them I was happy for the odd email

Not heard from mine but she likes my Facebook posts 🙈
