RSV jab

I’ve just noticed in my badger notes an appointment has been made for me tomorrow to have the RSV vaccine. I’m not sure if I want it. I haven’t with my last two kids & they’re fine. Does anyone know any fors or against it?

I didn’t have mine as it was such a new vaccine I later found a friend little girl of 2yrs went into hospital very very poorly I later went and got the RSV Thants just my story u have no information in regards to benefits or problems with it Just make sure you’re always happy with your choices x

i think i’ve seen more videos on what happens to babies who catch RSV than what happens to the babies after the mother has the vaccine, so that’s enough for me to get the vaccine. i got the covid vaccine about a month after they finally announced pregnant people can have it and i was so stressed over it, but thankfully nothing bad happened from it. just have to trust the nhs, they gain nothing from offering a free jab

I got the vaccine a few weeks ago and no problems whatsoever nurse said that while baby can still get RSV with the jab they are unlikely to be hospitalized from it as it’s not full protection but it introduces them to antibodies and that’s made me feel a lot better as at least he will have some protection but as other said its completely your choice ☺️

I got the vaccine and it was honestly fine, I do understand the apprehension around a new vaccine but it's been around for years in other countries. Also as others have said, RSV is grim but especially for babies. I think husband had it as he felt horrendous for over a week!

My cousins baby got RSV a couple of years ago and she was really poorly in hospital. I had no issues with saying yes to it after seeing what they went through. I was absolutely fine after it. It was the whooping cough one that gave me a dead arm and a little unwell!

@Kate the whooping cough gave me a bad arm for about 2 month….. don’t usually have a sore arm that long
