No, not until the child can undress themselves. 18 months is a good age. People have varied opinions. But I'm talking about potty training in terms of the child pulling down their own pants and sitting on a toilet.
To each is own but I personal work in childcare & my baby literally turned one 10 days ago. We started potty training this past weekend. Some may say it early but the earlier the better because honestly all children move at their own pace. So jump on it as soon as you want. Some days may get inconsistent but for the most part I try to take him every hour or when he wakes up from nighttime sleep or naps & just sit him on there for 5 mins. I sit & recite abcs & numbers or read him a book & he typically stays seated. If he gets up i redirect him back to the potty. He’s went twice within the last 3 days & he actually cheers when he does it. It’s about patience & consistency & im confident he’ll get it sooner than later. I’m also not putting too much pressure on it due to his early age but I’m making sure he gets the concept. I deal with 2-3 yrs old that wait to potty train until they come to us & it’s a bit of a struggle at times. So start early mom ! There is no such thing as too early.
Mine just turned 1 and I plan to start the elimination communication potty training within a month
we started getting used to going to the bathroom since he’s already in cruisers it’s easy pull down and up,, we’ve been practing going poop because his poop stinks so bad
No, I've always been told to start when they show signs of being ready for it. I think average age is 2-3 yrs old
