Tips for body odor đŸ«Ł

Not a poll but in need of tips. Last night my partner said ‘serious question, what are you gonna do when we go on holiday’
I wasn’t quite sure what he meant then he said ‘how will you handle your chronic B.O in a hot climate/country? You have chronic B.O’ He didn’t mean it in a horrible way and was giggling as he knew I’d get annoyed, but I felt super embarrassed. I’ve always produced bo maybe more than other people. For example, I have never smelled bo on him before and it’s just natural he doesn’t really produce that smell under his armpits, but for me I produce it more. Mine is more of a musty smell and the issue is it gets stuck in the armpits of my shirts, even when washed it will smell fresh but as soon as I start sweating the smell will heighten from the armpit section of my shirts (it’s like it’s embedded in my shirts) I finally found an antiperspirant and routine that works for me. I scrub my armpits with detol soap in the shower and use bionsen antiperspirant after which smells so clean and works! I don’t sweat abnormally or a lot that would be a concern, but I think anytime clothes are touching my armpit the sweat just makes this funky bo smell. It doesn’t happen now because of my new routine. Anyway, I’m not like a smelly person, it probably sounds much worse than what it is. But I feel really self conscious now and I want to smell clean 24/7 and not want him to think I have bo. In the shower this morning I washed 3x with detol soap and sprayed my bionsen antiperspirant and it’s now 7pm and I don’t smell at all yet, but I haven’t done any physical activity either today Tips?

Oh bless you that just have really hurt your feelings đŸ€ Roll on Mitchum is amazing x

Have you tried washing your clothing with white vinegar? I started washing gym clothes with vinegar a long time ago and I have continued to use it for every load. I am very sweaty. So, I understand the problem. It helps remove odors from clothing. Some fabrics are awful with sweat. I would try to avoid polyester and stick with cotton and less synthetic materials for clothing. I would check your current clothing that you think smells after you put it on clean to see what it’s made out of.

throw the stained clothes out- not sure what your diet is like but that could be a start...staying away from foods that throw off your b.o. , also showering multiple times in one day. đŸ’ȘđŸŒ

Second the roll on Mitchum its amazing and swapping for cotton less synthetic material clothing

Try liquid chlorophyll they also have pills they eliminate body order I had the same problem I talked to my doctor about the exact thing because it was so embarrassing I sweat everywhere and it’s so strong however my husband doesn’t smell when he sweats or it smells normal meanwhile I smell musty it’s so disheartening I also use baking soda to get the smell and stain out of my clothes and I use a spray deodorant instead of the roll on or clay ones

If you have body odor, it’s too late to put on antiperspirant—you will need to bathe. You will need to thoroughly bathe twice a day in addition to having a proper antiperspirant.

PP BO is the worst! My husband said it doesn’t bother him but I get so anxious about it. I have tried so many deodorants to no avail. I will still smell even after scrubbing multiple times right out of the shower. I don’t have any tips, but you are not alone girl 💛

Can you wear singlets and vests under w maybe a cardigan over- so basically shirts that let the underarms “breathe” and you have no fabric sitting against them to make it worse. What tops do you normally wear? Maybe switch to clothes that are more breathable and not tight? Less tshirts. In summer I’m in short sleeve or strappy dresses so letting the underarms breathe basically. But I’d also be having 2 quick showers a day if I was conscious (I did PP up to like 6m, that PP smell was stank so I showered twice a day)

What's your diet like? Bad diet can lead to more BO? Are you shaving your pits every day? Agree with Kellie, wear tank tops every day so nothing touches your pits.

@Selena obviously I’m not putting antiperspirant on after already having body odour. I apply it immediately after my showers. I also shower twice a day, if I have been to the gym, or once a day if it’s been a not busy day. Currently I have no smell under my armpits still after showering this morning, but I haven’t been active today or worked out so haven’t sweat.

@Ella very healthy diet as I weight train so gym 4x per week, little carbs but high protein. Not much dairy and sugar occasionally. No real herbs like garlic etc that could contribute. I had laser hair removal on my armpits so no hair there at all. I will definitely try the tank top recommendations as I notice anything touching makes it worse

Biosen pump deodorant spray. Thank me later . Every other suggestion I’ve seen in here over the year didn’t work but that is a godsend.

Ps I did everything from aha acids under my arm , magnesium, taking chlorophyll supplements, eucalyptus, all types of deo, bleach ect ect trust me the one i suggests is the only way to go ladies

You said it yourself you finally found a routine that works. How long have you been with your bf vs how long have you done this new routine? Maybe he hasn't realized yet it's no longer an issue for you. Also may be you are wearing clothes that have that lingering BO from before your new routine so any bit of sweat thay hits the pits of those clothes will trigger the smell. Probably best to get new shirts. I am at the point with some of my old shirts...they got that lingering musty pp BO and I can't stand it! Maybe let him know you know it's a thing and have finally found something that's working and even ask him if he notices a difference in a few weeks. Tell him it's something that makes you self conscious so not to be a jerk about it

Most of the comments were suggesting antiperspirants, and I misunderstood. I’m sorry.
