I agree definitely get a double for this age gap. It’s not really about the walking ability of the eldest it’s more they have a tendency to run 😂. It’s good to have somewhere you can strap them in!
I got a double buggy but I've only used it once, so far it's kinda been a waste of money, not sure if we will use it more later or not. My eldest is 15 months old now and walks really well and doesn't want to go in the buggy unless she's tired, so I had a baby in the buggy (7weeks old now) and a sling with me in case then I'd swap them around. I'm going to look into buying a buggy board for when we are out and about for shorter times but long enough for her to get tired and save the double buggy for days out when they both need a nap in the buggy 🤷♀️ my eldest isn't a runner though x
@Emily you might find as she gets older and the novelty of walking wears off that she wants the pram more or asks to be carried, seems around 2-3 they get really lazy and a walk takes an hour lol
@Emily this is my worry. I may just purchase a second hand one off market place so I’m not wasting money on a brand new one
I did baby in carrier and toddler in pushchair. When my son was around 3, he started using a buggy board.
Cybex gazelle omg it’s amazing I have a toddler nearly 3 and my baby is 15months it’s lasted so well started with the car seat that attaches and now they are older my smallest is in the buggy and the oldest when she needs to goes underneath the pram in the basket bit so never needed to get the second seat lol
If you can afford the bugaboo donkey, it may be worth it. Maybe sell the bugaboo fox if you can and if you like the donkey, use the money towards it. There’s quite a few second hand ones on Vinted and Facebook marketplace. There donkey can turn into a single one so if after a while you don’t need a double anymore it doesn’t have to be used as one. There are cheaper options if you don’t mind tandem ones that turn into singles.
But you don’t need one. If the fox lays flat you could get away with it as if you’re out all day and your older child gets tired they could switch if you have a baby carrier as well.
@Ellen ha ha my 3 year old goes in the basket in our Gazelle too!
i am 39 weeks with my second and i have bought a graco double buggy but i have also invested in a sling for the newborn just as an emergency thing x
Anyone I know with 2 suggests a double until eldest is around 3.5 as its so handy to have somewhere safe to strap them in for example if youre in a loo changing the baby. My friend likes the out and about nipper, and then has a cheap second hand folding buggy for days when she has the baby in a sling
