Constipation

My baby is now eating more solids and drinking less formula throughout the day. He seems to be constipated and straining to pass his poop. His poop is also dry. Has anyone else experienced this? What has helped? How long did these symptoms last before it got better? Thanks!

I just fed my little guy a jar of prunes. It helps usually.

Our pediatrician said it was ok to mix some prune juice with water. And it seems to help. But ever since we started solids his poop schedule went from going everyday at least once to pooping once a day for 3-4 days and then no poop the following days

Our pediatrician said to mix equal parts water and white grape juice

I make homemade apple juice and mix it with my baby's rice cereal or purees..works every time. Also for those stuck poops that have them crying in pain. My pediatrician recommended pedia•lax for my 8 month old and it helped her immediately

Water In between meals maybe an ounce and a half , pears does the trick and prunes puree or prune juice is fine . Keep in mind ur baby needs to keep hydrated even if it’s just sips between meals

We've experienced this some and give fruits especially prunes, apples, peaches to help.
