Our preschool is 9 until 3.30, 9 until 1 or 1 until 3.30 we get the choice of those slots or full days so full time would be 32.5 hours a week for our preschool here in 🇬🇧
Yes, absolutely but my firstborn is still my baby too :)
We will only be getting 15 or 16 hours free a week when our little boy starts in September. Personally, I think that if you are not working, then your child definitely does not need to be there for 30 hours.
@Maeve it's not as good for their development as spending time with their parents.
Thanks for the comments ladies. I’ll be back at work 5 days come next June on a part time basis. Will try and reduce my hours via a flex work request after having the year off maternity & using up holiday & a staggered return to work policy for 13 weeks. Dad will be at work 6 until 5 so not around so will just be on me this with newborn and 3 year old x
Our little boy (3 years old) currently attends for 33 hours 3 days a week due to our work commitments. Next week is my last week at work and once I'm on mat leave he will still be going for similar hours, maybe a slightly later drop off and earlier pick up. You shouldn't feel bad at all. For me, it's just as important that he keeps his routine and he loves going. Plus there is a possibility of losing his current hours/place if I try to reduce as places are so in demand where we live. So maybe consider what hours you'll need once you actually return to work as if they are available now, it might be best to secure that place instead of it not being available when you actually return to work 😊
Preschool is 3hrs :)
