I’ve heard of people giving their babies frozen green onion to chew on and said it works miracles. I’m not sure if 5months is too young or not but you could always ask your pediatrician to see if it’s okay.
@Willow THANK YOU!! I was completely unaware it wasn’t freezable for safely reasons!! I might get the nuby cold chew toy assuming it’s safe as it’s designed to be frozen for teething!! Unfortunately I was unable to upkeep breast milk production but do you know if formula is safe to add to foods like sweet potato for weaning when we’re due to start next month if made fresh and not frozen? xx
@Evie any teething toys that contain water r not safe to freeze either, when the liquid freezes it expands and it can break or weaken the silicone around it and make it a big old choking hazard and the liquid inside can be dangerous to consume as well if it splits. Most say on the packaging not sutible to freeze refrigeration only. And yes when you wean if u are making mash potato's or sweet mash potato or something like that it's perfectly safe to use their formula to make the consistency creamier, this is actually the way ur suppose to do it as opposed to using butter, cream or adult milk. But just don't freeze the purees that contain the formula x
I was gifted a nuby teething ring with keys—you put it in the fridge for 30min before offering it, but not the freezer.

No formula is not safe or sutible to freeze it destabilises the formula and denatures it and makes it dangerous to consume when frozen. If u were breast feeding it would be fine to use that but u can't do that with formula which is a big shame because I had the same thought. However u can get a cloth wet it ring it out as much as u can pop it in freezer for 15-20 minutes and let them chew on that instead x
