Does the workforce just think people are robots??

Who came up with the idea that it’s okay to work 40+ hours a week!? And why? This shit consumes me. I have no time for anything besides work. No wonder everyone around me is angry and/or depressed. Don’t let you have kids and a family either cause then that shit gets 100x harder. Then you really don’t have no time for anything ever. How are you not supposed to burn out!? And god forbid you do then your health in on the line and there is little to no support available. I’m so miserable every day and resentful towards the system. I have tried everything, therapy, “self care days”, etc nothing works. I’m still stuck in this hole that society dug deep for the majority. I’m supposed to be venting but now I don’t know what the point of this post was…I just feel like I have imaginary hand cuffs around my wrists and idk what to do…

Can you afford to go part time. I do 32 hours a week and find that works well for me. Having a flexible employer also helps. Do you have any qualifications? Having skills that are in demand can help you find more flexibility as they need you more than you need them. Good luck 🤞🏼

Yes. Big employers want to exploit your labor and pay you as little as possible so they can make as much as possible off of you

It’s the unfortunately the systems we live in. They force or want u to go to school for 7 days a week & only having 2days of rest from 6or7am-4or5pm for like at least the first 18 years so they can get u ready to enter the work force of working 40+hrs. By the time we get to become adults we’re already used to the system & u basically need the system to live, thrive & survive. The only way to not live like a prisoner or not to feel like a hamster in a wheel is to remove as many of these “systems” out of life. It’s rather easier said that done tho. Cuz most depend on a job to live. I jus wish we lived in world were we didn’t have any of these systems & human beings actually had real choices

💯 relatable! 👏 well said
