@Charlie it doesn’t look right to me either, I’m getting it confirmed tomorrow but I was like huhhhh that’s so dramatic nearly 10k difference x
It is 24K unfortunately it is correct.
@Paige 😭😭 it just sounds such a dramatic drop but thank you x
I assume it also depends if you get paid for your entitled break! Xx
@Georgia so the 30 hours are the paid for hours x
I'd expect it to be £25.6k tbh! Where did they get £24k from? I went down from 5 days to 4 (40 to 32 hours) - it can take a big chunk!
I dropped from 40 hours to 33.5 which went from around 50k to around 43k. It does feel like a big drop but just ask your employer for a breakdown so you can understand it more! X
@Caroline no idea, so it’s 32.3 down to 24.8 💀 which just seems unreal xx
@Amy I expect the drop to be big on that kind of salary because of the amount of money you don’t see as it goes on tax 💀 but not on a 30k salary nearly losing 8k 💀💀
Sounds about right tbh! My FT salary was about 30k, I've dropped down to 30hrs a week and it's now £23,600
@Rebecca thank you! Xx
I dropped 5 hours a week and took a pay cut of around 6K. It adds up very easily!
I went from 37 hours to 30 and it’s a bigger hit than you expect, not to mention the annual leave reduction! But to get a week day off with my baby is absolutely worth every penny, there’s something special about our Thursdays together just him and me unlike the weekends with the rest of the family off! X

I’ve just done the maths too and it should be £25,600. £32,000/ 52 weeks =£615.385 (weekly wage) £615.385/ 37.5 hours =£16.41 your hourly wage. Then do it for for your new hours £16.41x 30 hours =492.3 weekly wage. £492.3x 52 weeks = £25.6k Ask them how they worked out 24k xx
24k would be if you are currently on 30k so ask them to check your contract. Could they have looked at an old one if you were once on 30k? X
It should be £25,600. The easiest way to do it is 32000 / 37.5 x 30 xx
@kayleigh my old was £31364 and currently is now £32304 - but I’m definitely going to ask them how they come to 24 if they confirm that to me xx
Yeah really odd as even your old salary is 25k and your new one is 25.8 so no idea where the 24k came from!
You’ve reduced your working hours by 20% (7.5x5=37.5). Your pay has reduced by 25% so there is a 5% discrepancy. 32k x 0.8 = £25.6k Unless I have my maths completely wrong it doesn’t look right to me
