Teething

My LO is 5 months and teething so badly, he has 4 teeth trying to cut through. We’ve tried a lot of different teething toys and teething remedies he can have (can’t have bonjela until 6 months) but nothing is really helping him and I just feel so helpless. Anyone have anything they’ve used that’s worked??

The Ashton and parsons teething powder is quite good, or their teething gel. I sometimes freeze a boiled and cooled muslin for him to chew on, or boiled and cooled flannel as he seems to prefer it to the rubber toys for now. I also have a rubber finger brush that he loves but equally just washing my hands well then rubbing his gums with my finger works. When he’s inconsolable I give him calpol but that’s rare. I’ve bought a thing to freeze breastmilk and it makes a sort of push pop dummy but haven’t used it yet as I think it’ll be messy

Ashton’s and parsons

Oh Olivia I feel you we are in the same position, 2 are out now but still 2 coming. It is horrible for my poor little guy!! I find distraction during the day is the best thing- getting out and about so he's got loads to look at. Then I am using calpol and nurofen at night as his sleep is really disrupted... Annoyingly at 5m your baby is still on a low calpol dose and 2.5 ml is not cutting it... I am not recommending as it's not what it says to do in on the pack but I have started giving 4ml as my LO is 5 1/2 months and a big baby and in 2 weeks he can have 5ml. Other people have recommended anesbol liquid (there is also a gel) but I don't think it does much for my LO- it's 5 months though.

Thank you for the suggestions gave some a trial today and he seemed much more happier!
