Chemical pregnancy question

I had 2 positive tests 12 DPO and another positive 13DPO. However on the day my period was due I had negative tests for the next 2 days. I have accepted that I have had a chemical pregnancy however I don’t know how to move forward now with ttc. My period is now one day late and I am having horrendous pains. Online it says it could take 4-6 weeks for my period to return. Is this true? At what/any point do I need to speak to my GP? I can’t believe how sad I feel and the thought of not being able to continue ttc makes me feel so much worse.

@Anna Kontus that’s made me feel much better thank you. I’m sorry to hear it happened to you too💕

I’ve had two chemicals, and we’ve tried straight after. Chemicals happen so early that I would (and did) consider it as a period. Your cycle likely won’t be disrupted by it and get back to normal pretty quickly. Ovulation likely will resume as usual.

Really sorry this has happened to you 🤍I had a chemical a few months back and I also counted it as a period, and actually got pregnant the next month - so try not to let it dishearten you too much, although I know it’s hard. Sending love and best wishes to you x

Thank you everyone, all the advice has made me feel better. Fingers crossed my period turns up soon xx

I’ve had a chemical last year my positive test was pretty late in my cycle so I kinda knew something was wrong and literally a day later I had bleeding and testing negative. Chemical pregnancy are early on so you can count that bleed as your period and your cycle should come back to normal. After I started bleeding we carried on TTC.

My periods went back to normal after my chemical last year and I ovulated straight away too. Sorry to hear you had one I know what u mean by the bubble I was so happy but only for 4 days as that's when I lost it x
