When to start buying things??

I’m so excited for our first baby but I’m only 4.5 weeks along. When do you think it’s considered “safe” to start buying baby things?

Over 20weeks

With my first i was buying things immediately but now with my second im 18 weeks and only just bought his first few bits c

Personally, I started getting little bits around 13/14 weeks after first scan. At 16/17 weeks we found out the gender and we bought clothes for the first 3 months. I’m currently 21 weeks and we just bought some of the big stuff (crib/cot, travel system and high chair) but scheduled delivery for end of May, we got this stuff early because we wanted to spread the cost monthly and have it paid off by the time baby is due without having to dip too much into our savings.

I personally didn’t buy anything at all till 20+ weeks only because I had a previous miscarriage and pregnancy after miscarriage isn’t fun but don’t let that stop you from buying a few things I get it it’s totally exciting and you want to buy things what I did is put money aside monthly so after my 20 weeks scan I went crazy buying things x

There is no safe point, it's entirely a personal thing.

I bought clothes when I wasn’t even pregnant 😂. It was more of an act of faith thing for me. When I got pregnant I didn’t buy again till I was 30 weeks pregnant or so. I would say do you
