When baking, what do you use in place of sugar?

I like to make muffins and pancakes for the family but any recipes I've followed usually have sugar. I've tried honey but wondered if there were any other alternatives? I've tried recipes that just have a banana in it to sweeten it but my husband doesn't like bananas and they always turn out rock solid and stodgy 😅 And little one doesn't seem bothered for them either

maple syrup, coconut sugar, monk fruit, molasses, agave syrup, Xylitol

I use a banana usually (it’s also a great egg substitute!!) or strawberries. Another way I’ve gotten round sugar is by using desiccated coconut or a little bit of honey xx

Are we not meant to use sugar? I’m confused I’ve never swapped it for anything

Stevia tabs x

@Natalya I was just looking to find alternatives as I don't want him eating too much sugar. But there no rules I don't think other than everything within moderation I guess! Xx

Ohhh okay, I thought I was meant to be swapping it out because we make our own bread with no allergens and it has sugar in! Xx
