We only have as many bottles as we need for one day - that way, they don’t take up too much room on the side and always get used within the 24 hours sterilising time. We have a basin next to the sink for the used bottles go into for washing.
Same as @Em. We wash first with Milton bottle cleanser in their own washing up bowl, rinse with cold water, transfer to cold water steriliser (1 tablet per 5 litres) then after half hour minimum of them being in the solution take them out and hand them up to dry on a rack then assemble and leave on the side. Most bottle are self sterilising nowadays anyway. You need to find your own groove and what works for your life. We’re kind of semi organised semi lazy so this works for us. We can just leave the bottles and dummy’s in the solution and when we remember we just get them out.
I use the Milton bottle wash soap, set them aside in their own little tub till all the bottles are used up, then pop them in our steriliser. We don’t have that many bottles so we leave the clean bottles in the steriliser until we need them
Thank you so much! I didn’t even realise you could leave them in the water for 24hrs! That sounds like a much better way of doing it. Thanks for the help ❤️
We just keep them on the top of the microwave on clean kitchen towel
I have a collapsible washing up bowl for the bottles, I fill it up with soapy water to wash then, rinse them in the sink and put them straight into the Milton sterilising tub and then once they’re sterilised, I rinse out the collapsible bowl and keep the sterilised bottles in there once I’ve built them again
I have the tomme tippie UV steriliser, so wash bottles then put them in there to sterilise. It also has a storage function so I leave all bottles in there on that fuction and every 2 hours it admits 5 mins of UV light to keep the bottles sterile and clean over a 24 hour period. X
We also have the UV steriliser after trying a steam one and the Milton cold water. UV has been a game changer for us it's less messy with the water and my hands aren't sore from the Milton tablets. We got it second hand on FB market place 😊
We’ve got a steam one - tommee tippee Yes very overwhelming but for us it’s the most natural option to sterilise so I won’t switch to anything else. I try and just collect 3 bottles at a time and do them in little batches, they stay sterile in the container for I believe 24 hours but I use them too quick to know for sure.
Sounds so lazy but I hate sterilising! I use the Milton cold steriliser, fill my wash bowl with dirty bottles (warm soapy water) and then into the steriliser once I’ve rinsed them. Take them out when I need them. … I’m buying more bottles as I just can’t be bothered with the faff of it all everyday! Sometimes I just don’t have the time and can’t wait till my partner gets home to do it as I run out of bottles 😭😂 also separating mam bottles is a chore in itself 😭
Thanks everyone, this app has been a lifesaver for advice! 💕💕💕
We used a cold water steriliser with the Milton tablets and left the bottles in there till we needed them. The water is replaced every 24 hours so they were always fine :) c
