There’s a Facebook group called Gestational Diabetes UK (and a website of the same name/group) which is really useful for meal ideas - and general advice/support. Biggest tip is to always pair any carbs with protein and fats. And make sure to move after you’ve eaten a meal - e.g. go for a walk or do some housework. I’ve struggled a bit as it feels contrary to what should be normal healthy eating at times but means you’ll keep your blood glucose levels down.
Thank you :)
Check out glucose goddess and paleo type meals. If you go for grains try to go for at least 7g fibre/100g dry weight. Lots of non-starchy veg bulk etc!
I have just been diagnosed with this at 32w, swap normal potatoes with sweet potatoes, I done a chicken and vegetable tray bake the other night with some kale, mushrooms and onions fried, also did a wholemeal pasta bake, swap normal pasta with wholemeal, try and cut out white bread.
