Feeding- amount of milk

Hi all, this might be a silly question but how do I know if my baby is having enough ml of milk per day for their age and weight? My baby is 9 days old and being combination fed and is carrying between 65-90ml per feed, with about 8 feeds per day (every 3 hours). How do I know if this is the correct amount and when to increase it please?

I don't know the answer sorry but I wondered how you were finding combi feeding? I'm trying to breastfeed and milk hasn't come in yet and the midwife queried dehydration because of lack of wees. I wasn't sure whether to introduce an already made formula but didn't want to stop my milk coming through. How have you managed if you don't mind me asking?

@Anna for me baby was very sleepy from c section and wasn't latching when in hospital so they suggested introducing formula (we used ready made in the hospital but now use powder). His latch continued to not be great and so I've turned to pumping so I've been pumping every 3-4 hours to build up my supply and giving formula alongside this. I'd say about two-thirds of his feeds currently are breast milk through a bottle and the rest formula. Very happy to chat more about it! 🙂

At 9 days old, my little girl was having between 1-3 ounces every 3ish hours. What matters is that your little one is gaining weight well

Ah amazing thank you so much for sharing that. Our little boy is latching but it's hard to know exactly what is coming out when they're feeding so I just need to keep an eye on his nappies and if there's any pinky/orange tinge to wee for now x
