@Aleena no he , has been unsettled but that’s due to upset tummy and trapped gas , his usually has a bottle and sleeps 4/5 hours sometimes abit longer , this is why I don’t think we should up his food yet but my partner thinks differently
Yeah if he’s not searching for more milk then I’d wait it out, don’t wanna risk over feeding him x
mine takes 3oz every 3.5 hours ish, around 21oz a day… we have to wake him to even have that, but he takes it all when we feed. not all babies show they’re hungry as easily as others as my boy doesn’t wake himself or cry when hungry; we have to set timers and if he hasn’t shown it before, we have to make sure we get him to feed regardless… xx
So usually the advice is what your partner is suggesting - to put and extra oz in and let them take it if they want x
My lo is 4 weeks on Tuesday and he’s on 3 1/2 ish sometimes 4 sometimes in the night he only wants 3 x
I’ve always gone on the advice that if they are consistently finishing bottles or most of those size bottles in the day then you would increase them by an oz. We were on 4oz once we got home around the 2 week mark then it was quickly increased to 5 as he was finishing those bottles. He will take most of the bottle but there are certain points in the day/night he will take less but that’s fine, we are still offering the 5 incase. Also thinking we may need to go up because he’s finishing most of those now too x
is he showing hunger cues when he’s finished his bottle? My little girl had 4oz an hour ago and she was crying and sucking her hands so I’ve made her 2 more ounces
