my sons definitely showing signs, he’s telling me everytime he has a wee and touching his nappy and also telling me when he needs a poo i’m just struggling to actually get him to use the potty, he’s terrified of it and won’t go anywhere near it. Everytime he has a poo he’ll take my hand for me to go and change his nappy as well xxx

Mine is potty trained now! I started when he started telling me when he had done a wee/poo and showed an interest in the potty. Started off just doing a wee on the toilet first thing in the morning, before bed etc and built it up from there

We are currently potty training, I say currently, as when she’s commando, she’s completely potty trained, takes herself off for a wee, or communicates with me she needs one. (We’ve had a bit of a tough week with a lot of no’s with everything, food, potty, clothes, anything actually 😂). If shes in trousers it’s about 70/30 if she’ll communicate she needs a wee, as she can’t quite pull them down in time so needs the help. I found this article really helpful. We have two small potties. I just took off her nappy one day, and we’ve been going since then. We did use rewards, one jelly tot for successful wee in the first few days, we don’t now. My daughter wouldn’t find star charts/stickers or toys an incentive 😅 lots of praise. It’s not as quick to potty train a much younger toddler compared to when they are 3. But I’m so glad we’ve done it! I’m going to try pants instead of trousers, to see if that works better for her. https://www.becauseisaidsobaby.com/2019/06/potty-training-under-2/

My lo is saying when he is doing a poo now which I’ve read could be a good time to start 😊 I have also just put a potty in our bathroom for him to see and sit on and get used to it not sure if that will help but I’m thinking next 2 weeks I’m gonna brave it 🤞🏻 X

@Abbie I feel like I can write this myself . My son is also terrified of his potty

I'm the opposite. I bought a portable potty early and he loves sitting on it. But doesn't understand what it's for. Only understands the word "poo" as a time to run away laughing because we're gonna chase him for a bum change. He doesn't tell us he's done a wee or a poo and is weeing CONSTANTLY. Don't know if anyone else's kid drinks as much as mine 🫠

My little one (23 months) now tells me when she is doing a toilet. I plan to start training in the summer as think it will be easier then.

We have potty in bathroom, he was watching me going on toilet and I was always saying wee wee, so he wanted to do to,first on toilet, now he goes and bring potty. Everything we changing nappies I leave him free and he says wee and go.
