I used mam size 0 preemie nipple and finally had success!
@Lauren he burps every ounce due to severe reflux I also only swirl the bottles anyway x
@Messina how old is your little one, I think that might be to slow for him as he isn’t choking on size 1 more like struggling to get it out x
My boy is 5 months and we’ve just moved up to the size 3 teats on Dr Browns. When he was the same age as your little one we sized him to size 2 as he kept crying during feeds and falling asleep and he was fine after sizing him up x
Awww well I hope you get all the answers you need. I know but I'm sure you already do this too, but could try pulling his legs up to hus chest on his back laying down then release slowly around 4 or 5pm daily to see if that gets all the wind and gas out but I'm hoping sizing the nipple helps you both xo
Also do you feed him sitting somewhat up? I'm sure you do just throwing all ideas out there
@Lauren yes I do all that and bicycle kicks xx
Agh I'm so sorry, I do promise it gets better with food. I normally say food before 1 is just for fun but it is medically beneficial in infants like your precious baby who have gerd/ acid reflux/ gas issues etc. You'll cross that bridge with your babies doctor soon (in the US we can intro food to help with gut related issues at 4 months of age) I hope it gets easier. Do you have a vibrating baby chair/ recline? Or a vibrating baby mat that can go in their crib safely? I believe Owlet company hopped on & made their own as well I'll say this helps with- Colic, & Gas but I'm not sure on acid reflux etc. Just the vibration helps keep babies digestion moving. I wonder if vibrating baby softly while feeding may help or opposite? That's all my latest ideas though just hope you both get relief soon. This is very normal, spit up etc but again I'm sure your Dr said all that too xoxo
Also keep in mind I learned this in college for Early Education. An infant feels like they are constantly falling if not swaddled or held close, their equilibrium is thrown from being suspended so long in our womb. I had NO IDEA until after I had my daughter & still think that's a really cool fact. So that tends to level out at 4-5 mo of age they finally understand gravity 🤣💕
@Lauren that’s brilliant thankyou yeah he has a vibrating bouncer! He has really bad acid reflux so there on about weaning at 17weeks as they thought he had cmpa! So only 6 more weeks to go! He’s doing so well just struggles with his wind but as he’s closer to 3months his colic is getting slightly better as he can move a little better thanks for your help he does have an appointment with the dietician on Monday so hopefully we will get more help there xx
Try swirling the bottle when making his milk to lessen bubbles but you could try next level given baby is entering 3rd month however you could also try to make a tiny cut in the nipple to see if that helps. Does baby burp 2 times?
