My 5 month old is on 4-5 7oz bottles in 24 hours. Roughly 6-7am drinks most of this 11:30/lunch drinks all 4:30 -5pm drinks most Then a bedtime bottle between 7pm-8pm. She sleeps through if lucky OR wakes once in the night for a feed. I sometimes think the 2 hour gap after dinner and bedtime bottle isn’t long enough but she ends up drinking most of it and it’s more important for me to have her bedtime the same!
I wouldn’t be too worried as if he was super hungry I guess he wouldn’t settle / would wake up in the night for a feed. I’m also gunna try and earlier bedtime this week cutting out that last feed but as we’ve started our weaning journey I’m hoping that this will help a bit (I know we shouldn’t rely on this for nutrition at this stage but as long as she’s getting enough milk to hit nutrition target for the day I’m hoping the food more often will help her stay a bit fuller)
The nhs website suggests babies should be eating 150-200ml per kilogram of body weight. My 5 month old is on 4-5 210ml feeds a day which is allegedly the very minimum for her weight, although doesn’t always finish these feeds. I think the key thing is plenty of wet nappies, and you’ll be weaning soon anyway if not already so I wouldn’t worry too much if baby isn’t screaming for it. That’s my personal view anyway, as I was worrying to start with!
My 5 month old has 26oz in 24 hours, so she is on 6oz but I give her 7oz on her last feed which is about 7:30/8pm she then goes down around 9pm and sleeps until about 8/9am her first morning feed I then give 7oz again becuase she gone all night but her feeds after that until bedtime again are 6oz, hope that makes sense ☺️xx
