Formula feeding

My little boy is 8 weeks old on Tuesday we was on 5oz sometimes 6oz around 3 hours between feeds. We changed his milk because he seemed unhappy and uncomfortable during and after feeds but since we changed his milk he’s dropped down to only wanting 4oz is this normal ? Should I change him back to the original milk he was drinking more of ?

The new milk might just be filling him up more :) 5/6 oz is quite a lot so maybe the other milk just wasn’t filling him up :)

What milk are you using?🥰 the new one might just be a little thicker so it’s filling him up abit more! X

@Savinnah I’ve switched from aptamil to cow and gate , however I’ve heard that there isn’t much difference between the two x

@Shona I thought 6oz was quite a lot I’m hoping it’s filling him up better but I’m noticing he’s getting hungry again sooner than we was before like on aptamil he would drink 5oz sometimes 6 and go 3 hours between feeds and now on cow and gate he’ll drink 4oz but crying again 2 hours some times 2 and a half hours later because hes hungry x

How does he seem on this milk? We swapped our girl from mamia to SMA as she just wasn’t happy and not settling, and we have seen a massive difference in her already! As for how much she eats she eats around the same as the Mamia which is around 4-5 or 6 when she is feeling greedy haha 🩷 is he seems comfortable then maybe give him a few more days and see if his appetite gets bigger he might just be still getting used to the milk🩷 our girl was a little constipated when we first changed it but now her tummy has settled she’s so much happier!

If you haven’t seen a change in his mood maybe try him back on his old milk or a new one?🩷 xx

We are also using cow and gate, sometimes she wants 3, 4, 5 or 6, depending on her mood and how long she's lasted between feeds. Just keep an eye to see if the daily total is enough

Awww are babies were born on the same day. My baby is 8 weeks old on Tuesday too. I always go off the back of formula feeding guides. But my baby was spitting up a lot of the formula because he was tongue tied and then when his tongue was fixed. He was drinking the milk better and staying full longer. He was on cow and gate having 5/6 ozs but was full for 4 hours. I’ve just swapped him to another formula that’s been prescribed by a doctor. He’s having the same amount but seems be hungry after 2 hours so sometimes different brand can keep full longer. I’m going back to the doctors tomorrow about his feeds again xx
