Feedings

Hey mamas, how many ounces & how often do you feed your babies? Currently my daughter is 2 months, eating 4 oz, every 2 hours. I try to keep her at a minimum of up to 32oz of formula per day. I feel like that’s good but my family makes me feel like I’m starving her 😭

Best thing I was told was to go by the baby not by the book, if she’s hungry feed her, she will let you know when she doesn’t want any more x

My girl only eats around 24 ounces a day and she’s 3 months. She’s 55% weight and gaining well. Just go by what your baby needs

My girl is three weeks old taking 6 ounce bottles every 3/4 hours maybe 2 and a half if she's hungry then she's on hungry baby formula twice on a night time, every baby is different, I was trying to do it by the book every 4 hours and honestly she was screaming she was that hungry, whatever works for you and your baby, you will know her best and your families opinions shouldn't make you feel like that in any way, if the health visitor/doctors are happy then your doing amazing x

Honestly what you are doing is fine every baby is different if she wants more fantastic! If not then it’s totally okay💜 my baby didn’t start drinking 6 ounces until about 6 to 8 months and she’s growing like a weed. Just say okay and keep the peace other than that just keep doing your best momma and you’re already doing great💜

Definitely go by baby's hunger cues. It isn't easy to over or underfeed a baby, but with formula babies it can happen if parents become set on them eating a "certain amount" per day based on guidelines. Just feed when she's hungry and stop when she's full. If you track how much she's eating daily just track it for the sake of information for the doctor, not to inform how much you "should" give her.

@Charlotte that's what I do

Mine is 2 months and I’ve stopped tracking her feeding. I feed her when she’s hungry and give her a much as she wants. We do both breast and bottle feeds. You’ll always know from her cues.

At that age, my baby was having 17-20 oz a day. It totally stressed me because 25 oz a day was the average for babies that age iirc, but she wouldn't take more. She's doing great now. My advice is to go by what your baby wants- 32 oz a day is great and far from starving her!(.

We mix feed. She's three weeks old and she has about 150-200ml breast milk (depending how much u produce on the day) and about 200 odd MLS if formula to top her up whenever she's hungry
