Jabs?

Hi everyone I’ve got my little boys jabs tomorrow and I was just wondering everyone’s experiences and if there was anything that made the whole process smoother? Thank you! X

My little one will have next week, the midwife advise to give him Calpol before the jabs are given. But need to check the amounts 1st

I have my little boys ones in an hours time! 😩 I don’t even know how to prepare us for it I’m just making sure I take him a feed with us and have some calpol ready for after. Not sure what to expect really but can update you after! 😬xx

Mine always did great with them, never had to give any pain relief, I just whipped a boob out to settle him right after and he was back to happy. The only side effect he had was sleeping a little better after which I really didn’t mind

With my first, I breastfed her whilst she had her jabs which did help a bit! She flinched and cried but then went back to feeding straight away! I assume it would be the same result with a bottle too!

LO cried quite a bit after her injections, but quickly settled with a breastfeed! We then gave her a dose of Calpol straight after and she was okay. A little sad when she would move her legs, but easily calmed with lots of cuddles! She also slept pretty much the rest of the day and then had a good sleep during the night, too! Xx

Thank you everyone, just hope he isn’t too upset because he’s very colicky as it is 😫x

I was told to give calpol once we got home by the nurse who did it...so that's what we did. She was upset getting them but settled and was happy after until she napped. She woke up from her nap very upset, but I think her calpol was wearing off and I couldn't give the next dose yet...but she then settled down again and slept a lot the next day!

@Ana you should never give calpol before injections. Most nurses won't give injections if you do, this is because it can mask a reaction x

Gave calpol before and had a bottle ready to shove in her mouth straight after to re focus her mind and she calmed down quickly!

Also I was advised to give calpol before

@Ana hi, my midwife advised not to give it before as it could hide a reaction that they would like to see, she advised to give it after but I’d check with the doctor on the day. :)
