was it hard for you to find a barber for your son?

took my son for a haircut today. i’ve been to 4 different places since we moved!! every time i show them exactly what i want (and it’s a picture of him with the haircut!!) and the barbers seem to cut it however tf they want still. before we moved my brother cut his hair and he always looked so cute. 4 different barbers and i show them the same picture of my son and ill show how they have cut his hair every time vs the original picture. it’s ridiculous 🤦🏻‍♀️

let me know if i’m being like overly critical. sometimes i’m like “at least his hair is cut” but it’s still not what i asked for!! they always take too much off the front/top and cut the sides SO short too far up imo 🤷‍♀️ is this just what it’s like to find a barber??

Honestly, I'm dealing with the same thing. I've only been to 2 people so far, three different hair cuts. I say no trimmers, just clippers. And it still ends up too short... I feel like they try to rush it because he doesn't like getting his hair cut

im screaming bc what a nugget omfg 😭🥹🥰

also my friend has 2 barbers he likes in princeton who apparently know how to do a good cut ill text you the places!!!!! 📍

Honestly I cut my boys hair at home since he was really young, granted he was a baby in Covid lockdown so I had no choice really but I watched a bunch of YT tutorials bought a good shaver and scissors and just copied the tutorials and every time I cut it looked better and better and I got more confident. Not sure if that’s up your alley but if you watch some YT tutorials they are quite relatively simple. I cut my own hair too though I was sick of them chopping off too much. It’s hard to find a good barber and I thought F it I’ll just do it myself.

Probably because having the fade on the sides is popular. Have you tried a kids hair cut place ?

I ask for "a little boy's hair cut" and that's what we get every time. We do go to a small one person barbers but she really listens and does what we ask.

@Breonna see like my son sat there for at least 30 mins today he doesn’t mind getting his hair cut but that makes me feel better that ur experiencing the same thing 🥲

@MIA❤️‍🔥 lol ily 🫶🏼 and yes please lmk!! 📱

@Kellie see like i cut my own hair at home too but i might have to see about doing my sons myself especially since the next time we visit california my brother could show me how he cuts his hair so i could do exactly what i want but it seriously is SO hard to find a good barber 🥲

@Brittany ya i like the fade from the first/second picture and that’s the haircut he got today (3rd pic) was from a children’s place with a literal jungle gym in the waiting room. i had such high hopes and then he just kept cutting and cutting 🥲✂️

@Sarah i would be afraid to ask for a “little boys haircut” because idek what that means so idk how someone else would interpret that 🙈 but im glad ur happy with the lady you go to

PSA the haircut my son got today i feel is the equivalent of if i told the barber to “just buzz it all off” so that’s where it at lol

You could try asking on a local FB group who people would recommend for kids. We aren't there yet but I know where we will go since they come highly recommended and are great with kids 😊

@Jae 👾 that’s actually a good idea thank you 🤍

In my experience most hairstylists cut hair shorter than you want it which is why I stopped going to get my own hair cut. It’s really frustrating

I think the one from today looks fairly close to the picture?

@Jill i don’t understand why they do that 🥲

@Ella yes! it’s definitely the closest to the picture compared to the other times

Try a women’s salon that does men’s hair. Generally they will listen to your style more then certain types of barbers and the kids like the relaxing environment

@Caitlin i think i will try this out!! we have only had male barbers so far so i should try a female and see if there’s a difference

I barb my son's hair myself though I can't relate
