We gave my son toddler formula until 18 months (with oatmilk ) and then switched to cows milk.
Yes my little boy is 13 months & still on formula, only following a sore bum from cows milk first time round,so we are going to gradually ween him off formula again soon..but don’t stress just try your little one with a few ounces of full fat milk per day & see how they do! Xx
@Shantelle it’s just been my safety blanket since he’s been born and done it everyday for past 14 months. I know it fills him up and he’s content after milk. He’s not very well atm and not eating alot so the thought of me taking it away gives me anxiety
@Chloe which tub are you on? Xx
We’ve always had him on aptamil first milk xx
Mines 18 months and I’ve only just stopped formula. He was on maybe a bottle a day and wanted it as a comfort. (Otherwise eating 3 meals and snacks in between) He refused cows milk and then I started mixing formula and cows milk. Now he takes bottles of cows milk and is fine, but I’ll buy formula for when we’re travelling as it’s a nightmare to take cows milk everywhere!! Xx
@Katherine and would you be using tub 1 or 2 for your formula. X
@Chloe see I’ve transitioned to aptamil tub 2 but the sugar content is ridiculous and that’s what scared me!
I use stage 2 or rather the one for 12 months+ as it has more calories. X
@Katherine I’m on tub 2 as well but was shocked my the sugar content! Was like 16g in one bottle. That’s what’s freaked me out x
Mines 13 months and still on 2-3 formula bottles but in the night. He will drink cows for nap and before bed and won’t touch anything else no matter how much I offer. I keep him on Formula because he still wakes in the night and recommended is only two bottles of cows milk. He’s still on formula one. He also had a decrease in eating since his 12 month jabs so I like to know he has what he needs daily even if that does mean formula
We used formula until he was 14 months then slowly added in cows milk then when the tub ran out at 15 months we didn’t get more. I do get what you mean but once you transition you won’t miss it and cows milk or dairy feee milk is just as filling and cheaper x
@Tiffany you’ve written that as if I were you. I am exactly the same as you atm, so glad you know there’s others in same situation x
Totally get it. My LG still loves likes 3 bottles a day even though she’s having 3 meals and some snacks. I do half formula half cows milk and I’m at a standstill with reducing it down anymore! X

You are meant to replace the formula with cows milk so you can replace one comfort with another. My 5 year old still has a cup of cows milk before bed at night 😂 his choice! That’s now his comfort before sleep
My little one is nearly 17 months and still on formula😫 he wouldn't take to cows milk so we've just started mixing half cows milk half formula for his bottles and gradually swap to cows milk. I could never not have formula in the house either, just incase 😂🥲xx
He’s Ill and it helps keep him fed and happy when he’s better worry about coming off it but pretty sure WHO says milk up to two as main source of everything
I wean mine off to whole milk took a week but so much cheaper now
My little one is 16 months and he’s still one formula 1. He won’t drink milk out of his cup but has it in his breakfast, yoghurts and food. I completely get it.
At a year you can switch to whole milk. It still fills them up and is still comforting, but it's much cheaper, and they should be eating enough the nutritional difference should be made up by balanced, good food. As long as your kid takes it well, there's no reason to stick with formula. Imagine how much of a difference in your finances not having to buy formula will make
What makes you anxious about not having formula? Is bub not eating enough food? Hasn’t taken to cows milk or another alternate whole milk?
