Children and traveling without kids

At what age would you leave your children (multiple kids) at home alone and you go and travel out of the country for a week.

When they are 18 and graduated high school and even then I would be anxious about being away for a week.

@Haley đź’š I agree with you. Several of my coworkers said a 14 year old being home with a 13 year old was okay!

Not sure wouldn’t be until they were 16 at least and there would need to be someone checking in on them. That said my friends parents went away age 16 and she had a house party which the police were called to as guests were stealing. Me at that age had to stay with my 92 year old grandmother despite having a part time job.

18 when they can get what they need without me

It’s not even about them taking care of themselves but are they taking care of my home? No parties, no overnight guest, are they locking the doors and turning the alarm on at night, are they turning the burner off? I guess most people have security cameras so you can keep an eye out but a week is a long time. I would for 3-4 nights at 18 years old.

I was 16 when my parents left me for the first time home alone but I was working 6 days a week at this point so I was a very responsible 16 year old…

I’m torn between 16 & 18. I think I was probably 17 when my parents first left me home alone for that amount of time. And I could drive etc.

15/16 if the kid is responsible. My parents left me home often for a few days to go out of state when I was in high school.

After 18 and depends how responsible they are too. They would have someone check in on them also

Out of the country? 18. Generally just away for the weekend, not in an entirely different country? Maybe 15-16 depends on the kid. Even then, I’d feel very weird and nervous

Depends on the kid. I was a very mature kid and could make full meals by the time I was ten, but there are 18 year olds who would burn the house down sooo....lol
