Second baby

I’m just looking for peoples experiences if they have had a second baby. My little one turned 1 at the end of January and my partner and I would like around a 2 year age gap so would like to start trying for baby no2 in June/July time. How has it been for anyone including in pregnancy with a 1 year old?

Still in pregnancy with my 2nd (21 weeks) and it has been mostly okay so far! It can be hard when all you want to do is have a lie in because of the tiredness but you still have a toddler to look after, but if you have the support then it’s fine 💗 2 year age gap sounds lovely x

I hated a 2 year 4 month age gap personally. Everyone who had a 3 year + age gap that I know had a far better experience and their first born accepted the second child better with that age gap. 😅

I’m having my 3rd baby! My 1st daughter was 2 when I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter, and I struggled like crazy due to having HG sickness throughout that pregnancy and being on medication! The age gap is lovely though they’re like little best friends! My youngest turned 1 January and I’m due any day now, so there will be a 14 month age gap between them & this pregnancy has been the easiest. My 1 year old now shares a room with her eldest sister..don’t get me wrong at times I can feel a little drained like in the mornings due to my 1 year old waking up 2 times during the night and then at 6am x

Thats what we’re thinking as well maybe July or August. My friend just had two under two and said now the baby is here its actually a lot easier, she said the being pregnant with a toddler was the hardest part

We are also thinking about it later in the year so if it all went to plan our LB would be 2.5+ when a new baby would arrive. I do absolutely dread being pregnant and looking after a toddler, i was so drained when I was pregnant 🙈

My Jan baby is my second and I have a 21 month age gap. The third trimester was really difficult but I also knew no time was good. It was easier when she arrived. You tend to just get on with it and then accept the help of nursery to allow you to rest.

I only have a 1 year age gap and I wish I’d waited a couple more years till she was more independent at least it’s hard.

Although I say this my 1 year old has been bloody amazing. She isn’t keen on her sister in all honesty but I think that’s because she cries a lot 😅 she might come round once we’ve got over this colic phase.

My mums advice was always wait till the first is out of nappies. But that said we can’t just pick when to get pregnant and not everyone does straight away. If you are financially stable and feel ready then what’s the worst that could happen 😅 … good luck ☺️
