Thank you for your reply, really helped, will definitely do the walking and water and see if that helps :) x
Drinking water (not sugar free squashes) really helped me keep my readings down, even more so actually than changing my diet! So keep on with the water xx
Lots of protein and healthy fats too! Things like hummus, olives, avocado, cheese and then obviously meat/anything higher protein and green veggies. And like the others said lots of water and even just a 10/14 minute walk should help x
What did you have for dinner? I get scores like that if I have fish and chips or burger and chips. this evening I had a salad with chicken, sweet potatoe, humous and cheese. Filling and gave me a low score. (I also got an 8 today because I ate 2 cookies in an attempt to make baby move! It’s so frustrating!!) as the others have said drinking lots of water definitely helps too.
Drink lots of water (a few glasses) and go for walks after dinner. If the blood sugar comes down fairly quickly, it's a good sign. Not sure if you are using a gcm or monitoring manually. I was told consistent high reading are harmful but one off re okay. Not ideal but should be okay. If the high reading pattern continues and you can't figure out a way to manage, they will probably discuss metformin with you. It's okay to get some help to reduce your anxiety. I started metformin 5 days ago at 37 weeks and feel much more at ease now. It's definitely more stressful to manage just with diet, especially as the pregnancy progresses.
