@Promise I absolutely love that idea though. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of anyone doing that! I’m definitely leaning more towards my biological family’s last name though.
my husband and I are changing our last name to combine them and then the baby will have our new last name too :) you could either shorten your current last name for the baby, or pick a new last name for you and the baby!
What about your middle name? Your baby can have your middle name as their last name and if you ever want to drop your last name you can have your middle name as your last name too.
@Monica I think I actually prefer this!!
my partner and I legally changed both of our last names to Ulysses after our daughter was born. It’s a butterfly found in our area! We wanted to name our child something fresh and she was the first to have the last name! We didn’t like either of our family names because both our grandfathers were horrible people 😅 I say use whatever you want cause it’s yourrr new family! I’d change your name aswell so there’s no hiccups but that’s just my 2c
@Monica I really like this
I was heavily considering giving mine the last name X As in Malcolm X… I loved his logic behind his new name, & thought of following suit. But I’m also into numerology, so I finally settled on a paternal last name since it’s the energy of money. So my baby’s first name has energy of intelligence and creativity, last name of money. Together her full name will be the energy of wealth.
When you say her whole name with each last name, which one makes you feel good inside? My husband and I are changing our last name to a completely brand new one, not his or mine. We both have had some negative and toxic experiences with our perspective families so we decided we want to start fresh and give our baby girl that new name as well. It feels so freeing! Even though most people think we’re super weird for doing it. 😆 But who cares what anyone else thinks. Give your baby the name that resonates best with your heart. 💜
