Paediatric appointment UK

I had a letter come through for my 4 month old, an appointment next week. Nothing on there to say what it is. Is it a routine one like they have when they get their hearing checked when they’re newborns? I know I could just call and ask but don’t want to look silly - I have been auto piloting life and if they told me about it ages ago I definitely did not remember 😂

There’s no routine paediatric appointment to my knowledge - so rather than going with the flow… :) could you maybe call your GP and ask them?

Is it for vaccines? I'm in Canada but my son had appointments for 8 week vaccines and check-up, 4 months vaccines and check-up, 6 months same, and we've got his 9 month check-up in a month.

I’d call and ask personally! We’ve only had to go to paediatrics for specialist appointments for my daughter linked to her cleft lip and/or asthma

Have you been to the GP/HV recently with any concerns around allergies etc etc? Did LO pass all their newborn screening tests ok? You have to be referred to paediatrics in the UK. Were seen every 6 months by a paediatric cardiologist for my sons heart condition x

@Yasmin this makes sense! He had suspected CMPA and we had a call over the phone with a dietitian a few. Weeks back and then he was referred for his weight as he wasn’t gaining due to issues with his milk. He’s on goat milk kendamill now and he’s thriving on it! So I must have completely wiped it from my memory 😩🤣 thanks so much ladies!

@Yasmin he also had inguinal hernia surgery last month so it could be a follow up from that. Will call now anyway now I know it’s not just a routine appointment xx
