Potty training

I have been potty training my LO for a month straight and dont feel like im making any progress. He will sit on the toilet/potty and wee. He wont tell me if he needs to go to the toilet though. I have to take him myself. If he does have an accident he doesn’t tell me either. Ive tried using a rewards chart as motivation. Just not sure what else to do

How old is he? Is he still wearing nappies at all? My little girl would be the same, we kept asking if she needed it, it was hit and miss, she would still wee in her nappy pants. So we ended up ditching them…. So far so good! She’s done so well bless her! Few poo accidents but that seems to have stopped too. X

My little boy would never tell me but was happy to sit on the potty about a week after he turned 3 I just took the plunge and started putting him in pants and joggers he still didn't tell me when he needed to go for the first few days and had lots of accidents but by day 6 he hasn't had any accidents and is now telling me when he wants to go every time.

@Clara hey hes three years old and we stopped with his nappy at the beginning off his training to try help him understand the wet feeling when he had an accident: but even then he wouldn’t say if he had an accident x

@Emma aww no way! Thats brilliant. Im thinking off trying the bare bottom method next. Especially now its getting warmer

Personally I would do pants and shorts if your doing it in the summer as they would still get the feeling of wetting themself as it would go through their shorts and down their leg. I just think it takes longer bare bum as you train them then have to get them used to the pants. My friend did bare bum and it took her alot longer than it did for me to train my little one with pants and joggers. Obviously it's your decision but my friend suggested bare bum and I went against it and glad I did

@Emma Ive been putting him in pants so far so he can feel the wet sensation. But makes alot off sense what you’re saying
