Do you/or partner have this practice of washing your privates before sex?

I have before like if I got sweaty or something that day. That typically ends in shower sex tho lol

Together 9 years, my husband and I do this sometimes. Especially, if one of us could have a long day of sweating or whatever and/or we both just like to wash up before making love to each other to feel extra clean.

Me and my partner used to do that. I wouldn't wanna touch him if he'd been at work all day and being all sweaty and gross lol. And tbf we tend to have sex in the evenings after we've bother showered.

idk i think its normal or more common to do this if someone did something that made them extra sweaty or something like a long day at work or the gym or something but i didn’t know people did this EVERY time? idk it feels like that would kill the vibe? like you start to get frisky and then you both say “wait lets go wash” ? i’m trying to picture how it would be done lol

Yes always, especially if we had a long day and havnt showered since morning or the night before. You pee, poop, sweat down there. I dont feel comfortable having sex if i dont feel fresh in my private area.

Ok I get all your messages, and we do that too like take random showers and keep clean. I should’ve worded myself better. Meaning I am confused why this is the first time I hear him start to make a big deal out of taking a shower first EVERY SINGLE TIME. Even we’ve been intimate without a shower first, I was clean, because I had a slow day and lounged around. Now it makes it feel like I’m dirty. Like we’ve been together 7 years he was always content and never said anything. And I asked him why he’s randomly bothering me about it, and he just says because it’s normal.

Maybe recently your ph levels are off and you smell a bit more and you havent noticed and he doesnt wanna make you feel bad about it so he suggested cleaning yourself. It happens 🤷🏻‍♀️

I usually shower before bed, but if I don't, for some reason, I'm at least "cleaning up." I go to bed clean every night so in case we decide to get spicy. Lol. We've been together 15 years.

We generally make sure we've showered in the last few hours but, if not, we'd clean a bit before. Either way, he might be trying to nicely tell you things haven't been as fresh or maybe it's a new preference. I'm not sure why it matters what other couples do? Even if he's the only person in the world with this preference, I would respect it if my husband asked this and I'd expect him to do the same. It doesn't matter who else is doing it or that it's new considering it's a reasonable enough request, you know?

I shower no more than 8-12 hours before sex cuz I want to feel clean but not usually immediately before. If I expect him to do oral or something I will shower less than an hour before.

For sex? No, because people should shower everyday anyway, but for oral ABSOLUTELY

Yes, always. I think apart of it is because it's rare for my husband and I to have sex and not do oral for foreplay.

@Sarah no, we were actually lounging around having a lazy day because he’s off work for a couple of days. Also, we don’t do oral, so that’s why it sounds a bit more hurtful to me. I always take care of my body, and he’s never been close enough to sniff me down below, so I don’t know why he suddenly is being picky.

don't listen to anyone making out like there's something wrong with you for asking question. me and my partner don't really care about this type of thing, its very personal. but if I'm feeling especially gross or smelly I'll tell him that I want to shower first. but usually I want to shower after.

My husband says I make sex too ceremonial 😂 but I prefer to both shower and brush teeth before sex. Even though it ruins the spontaneity of it all. I dont want him coming to me with bad breath and sweaty balls because I wouldn’t do that to him lol
