Ok, so from a child development behavior specialist 'If she doesn't mind being wet or dirty then she isn't quite ready'. There is a lot of pressure these days about getting started once they're 2, but from a development perspective they're actually 'ready' more around 2.5 for things to happen faster and more smoothly. The fact that she is initiating some of the time already is Great news! It would be really good to just keep following her lead 😃
@Tasha-Lee thanks for this! I think that's what my gut is saying too, I would not push her to do it right now I just wasn't sure since she has been eager to proceed. Maybe I'll keep trying to slow walk it at her pace
We did the 3 day method. I highly recommend the oh crap potty training book. We didn’t do pull ups or anything, just dropped the diapers and then did underwear. My daughter was ready really early though. She would want to be changed as soon as she pooped and had a lot of control. Like she wouldn’t poop unless we were home and would hold her pees when we were getting ready for bathe time until we were in the shower. She was ready a few months before we did it, only because I was pregnant and wanted to get out of the newborn stage. We did it at 25 months and it was May. Just get the book. It explains everything. Stick to it and it’ll be good.
Read "oh crap! potty training" all questions are answered there and they give step by step instructions. Your daughter won't be unhappy with being wet with both diapers and pull ups since they absorb all the pee. For potty training you'll need to start bare bum, and then pants and then eventually underwear. Good luck!!
