Please help.
Nobody I know has been through this and I’m super anxious of the dentist anyway.
I had a wisdom tooth removed and the blood clot never formed so now I have a dry socket. I’m booked in tomorrow but what do they do? The pain isn’t unbearable- I had a failed epidural and 38 hour labour that was less painful than this.
I heard they pack it, but is that once, twice, how long til it heals? I can see my jaw bone through the open wound so I’m absolutely bricking it

Not helpful but omggg I had my wisdom tooth removed a few days ago I’m so scared of dry socket 😭😭😭

It was a special one (I don’t actually think it was gauze but a type of dentist material) and it just dissolved on its own!
They washed mine out and put some brown stuff in but note it hurts just as bad. Got some antibiotics but I’ve had about 7 hours pain free and I’m back in the same position. So fed up x

I had my wisdom teeth removed all at once, ended up with dry socket too! Went back to the dentist to have it packed, they injected a sterile solution into the area to rinse it through, then packed it with some super strong tasting gauze like stuff! Wasn’t unbearable but was uncomfortable but soon sorted it out.
