Jab recovery

My almost 12 week old just had her 8 week jabs yesterday (cancelled twice as she was hospitalised with bronchiolitis) and is really out of sorts. I don't remember my first being this bad with them, she's very tearful and unsettled, sounds like she is sore. How long did it take your LOs to improve?

Oh bless her, I hope she’s okay! My little one had a very similar reaction to her 8 week vaccines. She had them first thing in the morning was very tearful every time she moved her legs after having it done, so we just made sure to keep her topped up with the recommended 3 doses of paracetamol to try and take the edge off. But by the next day the pain seems to have subsided and she was a bit more herself, just very sleepy🤍

It's the new menb vaccine, my little one had her 8 weeks one and it came out in a red rash and lump (the lump is common). She was so upset the first day but then got over it a few days later x

My boy practically screamed all day after having them but was absolutely fine the day after. He calmed down as soon as we put him in the bath so if she likes a bath I’d deffo recommend that! Xx

@Rianne thank you so much! Yes she's the same today, very sleepy, she's not feeding well at all she just doesn't seem able to stay awake for long. Was she OK after day two? x

@Gemma thanks so much! Thats perhaps why I don't remember my 4 year old having such a reaction to them if the men b is new! X

@Katie bless him, exactly the same here! Screamed from about 3pm until bedtime with very short 10 min sleeps here and there, and only calmed down when I put her in the bath. Poor things! Thank you for responding x

@Lauren I believe it is common for them to be slightly off their milk for a day or so after, which I think is more down to the rotavirus vaccine! Just offer her little and often so she stays hydrated😊 But all in all, she was more or less herself after day two! But every baby reacts differently to them and if for any reason you’re concerned, always check in with your GP or 111 for reassurance🤍 As Gemma said though, the MenB vaccine is the one that seems to have the most effect on them and just makes them feel proper rotten xx

My 12 week had his 8 weeks last week (11 weeks) and he has been off it all week now 😩 it’s been draining! Lots of cuddles!
