Mam bottles are good for self sterilising in microwave, I also sterilise them in tommee tippee steriliser at home. My baby didn’t get on with tommee tippee teats so it might be worth getting a couple of different bottles
Aww Thankyou for your help. I’ve seen some you can get in the microwave that are mam so idea for away and then use the sterliser at home. I’m looking at the Tt one also would you reccomend?

MAM are good for microwave sterilising x
We have the tommee tippee anti colic bottles and use the microwave to sterilise if we need a quick one. Otherwise we use our tommee tippee steriliser
Mam bottles are great and can be easily sterilised in the microwave, I recently learned they should not be sterilised in the tommee tippee uv steriliser incase that’s the one you were planning on using!🥰
Hi Hollie Oh really they can’t be? I think I read they could be I’m guessing you have experience of this and found it out. Is this all mam bottles not just the microwave ones?
We bought TT bottles to go with our steriliser and prep machine and our girl was super gassy for the first few weeks. Midwife advised us that the TT bottles are known to cause gas and upset tummy, and recommended MAM or Dr Browns. We changed to Dr Browns and it helped a lot. They also fit in the TT steriliser just fine. A note for the steriliser is that it comes with 2 shelves but when you go to the bigger bottles >5oz you will have to take a shelf out to make room. We can still sterilise 4 bottles at a time but I was i initially a bit surprised how small it is. Not related to sterilising but if you are traveling a lot the Nuby flasks are also amazing for making up bottles out and about
I have the TT UV steriliser and it was great, drys and sterilises everything and doubles up a cupboard to keep everything in, I still use it now for plastic straws and medicine syringes 🙂 (if you stick with TT bottles you can fit 6 bottles in at a time )
Cold water sterilising is useful too. Large bowl of cold water and pop in a Milton and you can do that at your family’s homes too. The microwaving of the mam bottles turns the teats yellow after a while so I’ve stuck with cold water sterilising and microwaving only if I have too. I also travel a lot to Essex to see my family too!
We did Dr Browns anti colic bottles with the Milton cold water steriliser, super easy
MAM bottles self sterilise in the microwave. I use them exclusively as I'm breastfeeding so never bothered with a steriliser. There's also a guide on them on how many minutes to put them on for if you're sterilising more than one at a time!
We've got TT UV steriliser for home with the anti colic plus bottles with natural teats and a few mam bottles as they're good for sterilising on the go so long as there's a microwave to hand. Hoping it works 😂 planning on pumping & BF and it can all seem a little overwhelming the amount of choice you have.
Aww Thankyou you all ladies for your help on this I really appreciate your advice. Sooooo many bottles and reading up on what does what is really confusing , but I think I’m going to stick with my tv steriliser and trial the bottles as you said. Thankyou you again xx
I think the TT ones can be sterilised in the microwave? Otherwise you could get some of the microwave sterilisation bags - https://groceries.asda.com/product/baby-bottle-brushes-sterilisers/little-angels-by-asda-5-microwave-sterilising-bags/1000009132774 x
