Doppler

Does anyone else have a Doppler? How often do you use it? Just curious 💗 *video is from a few weeks ago (I know they aren’t medically advised and I’d have reduced movements not to reply on them😊)

I do. It was given to me during my first pregnancy. I used it a lot more before I got regular movements. I hardly use it at all now I can feel my baby moving regularly. I had a bleed at 17 weeks before movement and was in hospital for a couple of days. They were using the doppler on me several times a day so I really got a good idea how to use it properly. It was very reassuring to have at home when I was discharged from the hospital. I know they’re not advised but I found it really useful. I didn’t rely on it later in my pregnancy. I went in for reduced movements with my son still during my first pregnancy and didn’t rely on the doppler.

I have one, have no clue how to use it and we haven’t been able to find heart beat yet. We know baby is fine as we went in the day before we used it and her heart beat was strong and healthy. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! xx

@Jasmine I really struggled to find it till about 19 weeks and my partner actually found it first. I find laying flat works best and getting my partner to do it is much easier as baby is usually lower in the stomach around 20 weeks. Once found a few times I can now find pretty quick. Also move the Doppler up and down slowly but hold it in the same spot for a few seconds rotating the Doppler to different angles as baby could be hiding it may sound a little wooshy at first if it’s close but not quite on it - be sure to know what placenta and your heartbeat sound like. I found watching Tik toks to know what each sound is helps! Hopefully you find it soon!! It took me a while 💗

I appreciate this so much, thank you for your help! xx

With my daughter (1st) I used it a lot like multiple times a week, but this time (2nd) I’ve not used it as I have an anterior placenta so don’t want to scare myself if he’s behind the placenta and I can’t hear him ect xx
