Baby car seat on plane

I’m taking my 7 month old on her first flight soon. She doesn’t have her own seat. Is it best to just wear her in a carrier? Or any recommendations on baby safety seats? And lightweight travel stroller/car seat combos would be much appreciated!

What airline are you using? I would gate check a stroller and car seat. Do you have a travel system? I’d use that and then when going onto the plane wear her

Flying United. I have the evenflo modular travel system but it’s kind of big and bulky. We could check it, but I wonder if it might be easier to get a smaller/lightweight one.

We just got back from Thailand yesterday with our 6mo and brought our doona stroller that converts into a car seat which we gate checked very easily and would definitely recommend (though I know it's pricey). My husband wore her in the baby carrier through the airport and I used the stroller mostly to push our bags which was convenient. We have the travel bag cover for the car seat too, so we were able to put some more stuff inside the bag with the car seat that didn't quite fit in our luggage which was a nice bonus. Once you're on the flight, they have seatbelt attachments for baby for safety purposes that you need to use for take off and landing. You can also request a bulkhead seat with a bassinet but keep in mind that if you hit turbulence and the seat belt sign goes on, baby has to come out and be held (which is always when they're in a deep sleep I swear). Good luck!

Following because we are flying in August he will be 10 months.

@ashlee if you have the evenflo one there’s the gold stroller that folds one handed that you could get. We got that one. You could use the one you have already just gate check it. It’ll be fine
