It’s a cost-benefit analysis as with any medical interventions. I think the problem is that the research is on the AVERAGE immune system. If we do things that give our children a great immune system, then the benefit is lower than the cost (risks). We focus on a whole food plant-based diet, (and sunshine, sleep, and outdoor time) where there is some research to support a stronger immune system so I feel our benefit does not outweigh the risks.

Because I did research, and I feel like it's the right decision and am less concerned about the illnesses than I am about the risks of injury.

The thing that got me started researching them was when I had my first baby who was born premature. Pediatric medication is weight based and carefully calculated for littles one. When we were ready to leave the hospital she was only 4 pounds but they were offering to give her the same Hep B vax dose that they give an 8 pound baby. I thought nah that doesn’t make sense whatsoever. But just hearing from others isn’t going to give you the confidence like doing your own research. Because even if you decide to continue them at least you’ll be informed unlike the majority of parents out there.
