My first appointment was a get to know each other, they ask about medical history of you and family, ask about pets and how you are doing etc. mine lasted about 45 mins

i don’t think i ever experienced a health visitor coming before the birth of baby, however upon looking it up i’ve just seen they do offer hv visits from 28 weeks so maybe it’s new, it didn’t happen when pregnant with my first. i wouldn’t threat tbh, it’s probably just to get to know you etc. i haven’t received any communication from health visitor yet but we had a letter in the post a month or so ago about how my area has had to temporarily stop the health visiting service due to there not being enough health visitors/ being short staffed :(( xx

Mine came and just asked how I am if I have support and everything I need etc I see it as a waste of time tbh but good for people that might need support

I had one visit the house with my first and from what I remember they will ask various questions re. your health, how you’re doing etc, talk about breastfeeding and the baby etc, and they may want to see where baby will be sleeping x

They asked about who was in both of our families, does anyone smoke, asked about if I know how I plan to feed baby and do we have a cot/ somewhere for baby to sleep, what support we have nearby. Nothing too intrusive and didn’t want to look around or anything it was quite relaxed

This has also give me some reassurance reading these comments I’ve got mine on 31st March! I’ve been panicking a lot x

I’ve got mine on Monday and worrying a bit about it, but feeling reassured after this. We’re having a bit of a move around in the house so desperately trying to tidy things up

I’m on my third baby and never had Hv come before baby was born.. my last baby was last year. But two weeks ago Hv rang as I’ve changed doctors and asked for a visit. Apparently it’s something that they’re trying to get back into since Covid. A visit before baby is to introduce themselves and ask any questions. You don’t have to have the visit though. I told her I got a lot going on and gave her my C-section date and she’s booked to see me two weeks later x
