Poo- when is it a concern?

The past few days, my little girl's poos have gone looser in consistency, almost resembling korma curry. This has been going on for 5 days now with a loss of appetite too. She has most of her teeth alart from a few back molars and tgere is actually no scientific link between teething and bowel movements so i want to debunk that as people keep trying to tell me it's that. I'm wondering how her stools can be so massive when she's not eating as much? I think someone posted on here about a week ago regarding poo and I think someone may have mentioned allergies but I can't remember. There's been no massive changes in diet, she has no allergies. Seems otherwise okay in herself. So do I start to worry or should I start to worry? I think I may have imagined it when I read that a certain type of poo could be a symptom of sepsis or some sort of serious condition? Honestly, it's probably my delirium and being so tired with work, baby, etc so I guess I'm.just feeling a little reassurance! Thanks

I once read that kids before age of 4-5 can have something called “toddler diarrhoea”. If there have been no changes in diet, could it be that? X

We’ve just got over a bad case of Gastro and his poos looked like korma! Usually stomach bug poos do look like korma. If you’re concerned I would contact GP.

I’d recommend gp if you are worried. Was there any sign of constipation before? My LG had overflow a few months ago which was loose and apparently common at this age! Lost appetite and stomach felt harder than normal.

@Diana Oh yes, I have heard of that before and completely forgot about it! Thank you for reminding me, I'll look it up x

@Rebecca I did wonder if it might be a stomach bug but can the doctor do anything for it really? We've had no poo today other than what was on her nappy first thing and it was just a sticky trail of yellowy, undigested food bits. Hope your little one is feeling better now x

@Sophie This is interesting- she had been going through a phase of pebbly poos which does suggest dehydration/constipation. Would the overflow take days to clear out? This could potentially be a reason, thank you for mentioning it x

Incog it depends. If it’s viral then no but if it’s bacterial (e.g. campylobacter) then they would need to prescribe antibiotics to treat it. Yes, he was admitted to hospital twice with it but all better now thanks! X

@Rebecca Thank you for sharing this. Poor little fella, glad he's okay now! X

Overflow is usually where they have some poo stuck in their body and the rest pushes around it so it is loose so we ended up going to the gp for laxatives (sounds weird I know I questioned it at the time) but laxatives did get it out and then her poos returned to normal once we had finished the laxatives xx
